The crash On August 30, 1997, Princess Diana was in Paris when she died after getting in a car accident. At just 36 years old, the princess got into a car with her ... when they crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel. She had initially survived the crash, but died along the way to the hospital. It was later that they uncovered that the driver of the vehicle was speeding as well as under the influence of alcohol.

Thousands of flowers were placed in front of the kensington palace and Her death was felt by people from all over the world, with over 2 billion people tuning in to watch her funeral, making it one of the watched events in history.
